Mr. M Damodaran
Mr.Damodaran has been a distinguished and decorated officer of the Indian Administrative Service with over 35 years of administrative experience in various capacities. He left office as Chairman, Securities and Exchange Board Of India in February 2008, after a 3 year term which saw India’s securities markets gain world wide respectability for its regulatory standards. He was elected Chairman of the 80 member Emerging Markets Committee of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). Prior to that, he led an innovative restructuring of the Industrial Development Bank of India as its Chairman. As Chairman Unit Trust of India he undertook the task of turning around an ailing behemoth, an exercise widely regarded as the best turnaround story in India’s Financial Sector. He has won several awards for Leadership, Governance, and Public Service. With wide experience of the policy and regulatory framework Mr.Damodaran has been instrumental in ushering in good corporate governance norms in the industry. Currently Mr. Damodaran serves on the Boards of several organizations and is also the India Adviser of the ING Group. He is also the Chairman of FICCI's (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry ) task force on Corporate Governance. As a speaker he has delivered several prestigious memorial lectures and convocation addresses. His areas of expertise include Financial Management, Securities Markets, Corporate Governance, Public Administration and Leadership. He is presently an independent consultant and corporate advisor, coach and mentor based in New Delhi, India.
Dr. Ashok Khosla
Dr Ashok Khosla is the Chairman Development Alternatives and TARA based in New Delhi, India. In 1972, he established and headed the Indian Government’s Office of Environment and was later Director, Infoterra in the United Nations Environment Programme. He has been a member of the National Security Advisory Board, the Science Advisory Council to the Cabinet and other Government of India bodies and has also served as an Advisor and Board Member to various international agencies including the WWF, IISD and SEI. He is currently President of the Club of Rome, President of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Co-Chair of the International Panel on Sustainable Resource Management. He has received the United Nations Sasakawa Environment Prize, the Schwab Award for Outstanding Social Enterpreneur and the OBE from Queen Elizabeth II.
Mr. Shailesh V Haribhakti
Mr Haribhakti is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and the Executive Chairman and Managing Partner BDO India. He has lent his expertise to several professional and regulatory bodies in India like the SEBI, NSE etc. and maintains a deep professional interest in the area of Corporate Governance. As a Member of the Corporate Governance Committee of ASSOCHAM (Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India) and CII (Confederation of Indian Industries) he has extensively contributed towards setting of standards and providing thought leadership in this area. He also serves on the Boards of several public and private companies and was awarded “The Best Non-Executive Independent Director – 2007” award by the Asian Centre for Corporate Governance. Mr.Haribhakti is an active speaker at several seminars, conferences and training programs and has been associated with the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad as a visiting faculty.
Dr. Tarun Das
Dr. Das has spent his entire working career in industry associations in India, starting in November 1963 with the predecessor body of Confederation of Indian Industry. In 1995 under his guidance the CII set up a task force to formulate a voluntary code of corporate governance and in 1998 released a desirable corporate governance code. He was the CII’s Chief Mentor from 1st June 2004 to 31st October 2009 and is currently the Chairman of CII’s USA Council and a permanent invitee to the CII National Council and Presidents Council. Dr Das has been conferred an Honorary CBE by Her Majesty the Queen for his contribution to Indo-British relations. He has also been conferred the 2004 Singapore National Award (Public Service Medal) by the Singapore Government for his contribution to strengthening economic ties between India and Singapore. He has been awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2006 for his contribution in the field of Trade and Industry, by the President of India. Dr Das serves on the Board of several Indian and international organizations.
Justice Mukul Mudgal (Retd.)
After completing his Bachelor's of Law from the Delhi University Mr Mukul Mudgal enrolled as an Advocate in 1973 at New Delhi and commenced practice in the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court.He was an Advocate -on-Record in the Supreme Court of India from 1978 to February 1998 and the Member Secretary/Treasurer of the Supreme Court Legal Aid Committee from 1986 to 1995.He conducted cases in Civil Law,Constitutional Law and Labour Law besides espousing several public causes through Public Interest Litigations.He was appointed as a Judge of the Delhi High Court on 2nd March 1998 and went on to deliver several important judgements before being elevated as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on 5th of December 2009.He retired as Chief Justice in 2011 and is currently based in New Delhi.
Mr. Suhel Seth
Suhel Seth is the Managing Partner of Counselage India, India’s leading strategic brand management and marketing consultancy firm.He sits on the Boards of several Companies and is a regular speaker at industry meets on diverse issues including Business Ethics and Governance.He is a lecturer at various Indian Institutes of Management and the author of provocative columns in almost all the leading dailies of India as well as The Financial Times, London.He has co-authored two books on Calcutta with Khushwant Singh and R K Laxman besides the bestsellers ‘Get to the Top’ and ‘In your face’. He was the Keynote Speaker at the Indian Advertising Congress in 1998 and the Chairman of the CII Marketing Summits from 2005 to 2010.Suhel is an alumnus of the AMP of Harvard Business School and a member of the Harvard Business School Consultants Club. He is the Founder of the Calcutta and the Delhi Debating Society ,Concern for Delhi and the Rotaract and Interact Clubs in Calcutta.He is on the Board of Advisors of Deepalaya, the Neemrana Foundation and the Max India Foundation.Besides being a Member of the Experts Committee of India's Railway Board he has also served as a Trustee on the India Brand Equity Foundation for six years.He is the Chairman of the National Marketing Committee of both CII and FICCI for 2012-13.
